SB 2480    RELATING TO ANNULMENT, DIVORCE, AND SEPARATION     JDC
        Exempts impoverished persons from the legal notice
        requirement when a divorce, annulment, or separation
        is filed.

SB 2067    RELATING TO AWARDING CUSTODY AND VISITATION        JDC
        Requires written order with reasons for decision in
        awarding custody to person against whom there is
        evidence of family violence.

SB 2982    RELATING TO CHILD SUPPORT                          JDC
        Amends the law relating to child support liens to
        clarify that the lien arising from a child support
        order or judgment takes priority over subsequent liens
        only when the child support debtor was actually
        delinquent in payment at the time of the subsequent
        lien.

SB 2758    RELATING TO CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT              JDC
        Provides numerous revisions to comply with the
        mandates of Title IV-D of the Social Security Act.
        Compliance with these mandates are required for
        continued funding of the Child Support Enforcement
        Agency.

SB 2535    RELATING TO PROBATE                                JDC
        Probate letters; makes housekeeping amendment.

SB 2761    RELATING TO THE DISCLOSURE OF GOVERNMENT RECORDS   JDC
        Relieves the State and county agencies of the time and
        expenses of retrieving, reviewing, and making
        information, that the agency maintains but did not
        originate, available to the public under chapter 92F.

 
SB 2927    RELATING TO CHAPTER 92F, UNIFORM INFORMAION        JDC
        PRACTICES ACT (MODIFIED)
        Clarifies that agencies have 10 working days from the
        date of receipt by the agency to respond to a request
        for personal records under section 92F-23.

SB 2924    RELATING TO OPEN MEETINGS                          JDC
        Helps public agencies hold meetings by
        videoconference.

SB 2120    RELATING TO ACT 316, SESSION LAWS OF HAWAII 1993,  JDC
        AS AMENDED BY ACT 157, SESSION LAWS OF HAWAII 1995;
        AND TO ACT 278, SESSION LAWS OF HAWAII 1999
        Adds reenactment language to laws that were amended,
        and will be inadvertently repealed, by laws
        establishing the expedited sentencing program and
        amending the crime victim compensation special fund.

SB 2121    RELATING TO OBSOLETE LAWS                          JDC
        Repeals or makes conforming amendments to various
        statutes that have either been repealed by
        implication, or by their own terms by operation of
        law, and are now deemed to be "functus", that is, have
        accomplished their intended purpose and are of no
        further force or effect.

SB 2711    RELATING TO ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURE               JDC
        Provides that any administrative rule that has been
        adopted pursuant to statute or ordinance that has been
        subsequently repealed shall be repealed automatically
        upon the effective date of this Act without regard to
        chapter 91, HRS.  Provides that whenever a statute or
        ordinance is repealed, the administrative rule that is
        adopted pursuant to the repealed statute or ordinance
        shall also be repealed automatically without regard to
        chapter 91, HRS.
